attitude 180

seems like the usual blogs i visit all have current posts that have me shaking my head and saying what is she thinking? seriously, we've got a mom teaching her daughter to say 'wee-wee' instead of penis, because it sounds 'cuter' (no it doesn't), or a beautiful birth story shared by a 'natural' childbirth mom who took tylenol pm and drank wine to deal with labor (it made things worse, duh!) --then there's the worst...a nursing mom who is okay with sucking down alcohol and blogging about it-promoting it even. i'm pretty sure i was the lone shocked reader, since the overall comments had this theme: "if you're sober enough to drive, you're okay to nurse." what a load of crap. then this article came out this week. even the link she put up to validate her actions (click here) clearly states the negatives.

most of these blogs i visit for the awesome crafts these girls come up with and i realize that to each her own. i'm not going to agree with everyone. real simple solution to not be grumpy at other peoples choices...stop looking at them! easy. so i haven't been on the computer a ton lately.

what i have been been doing is going into serious nesting mode. tomorrow morning a good friend (and owner of a spotless and lovely home) is coming to my house to help me figure out the back room. ah, the back room. we don't do nursery's in this family, but we do need an area of quiet for nursing/pumping, naps and diaper changes. however, the back room is also my craft area, storage, library...well honestly, it was sort of the junk room (most people have a drawer, we have a room.) so i have been sorting, tossing and giving away. trying desperately to get this room organized enough that i can invite shye in without turning beet red from embarrassment (oh, and so that we can actually get something accomplished.) i can't wait to be able to look in that room and happily imagine rocking my baby in a soothing environment...

yesterday's huge project was me removing all of the books out of our enormous bookshelf into our room. the plan was: digger gets home from work and moves the bookshelf and i neatly organize the books and put them away. plus, as an added bonus, i neatly put all of our give aways in the carport, you know, so dig could load them up and drop them off at deseret industries for me. well...what i didn't think about was that it was opening day of transformers 2. so my calm and orderly evening turned into dig moving the bookshelf, cramming the books back on the shelves, tossing the give aways in the car (but first he managed to 'rescue' a few items....ugh!), then we got the stuff dropped off in the nick of time and headed for the movie. it worked out well, although i am paying for it now in sleep-deprivation. friends of ours were at the theater and spanky sat with his buddy. that was a first and i thought about him and looked for his little blond head through out the show.

here's to getting lots done, having a great attitude and choosing the right!

I'm so happy you got Shye to help you organize! It's going to feel so good to have your house in order before the baby comes!
