Until next time.....

All the fam is gone. Gramma and Grampa were the last to go this morning. Spanky was remarkable and said his goodbyes with dignity...making his mama look like a blubbering fool. He even deflated the air mattress for me. Then I sent him to get ready for school.

I wasn't thinking.

Gramma got him ready and made it fun all month. So when I noticed it was way too quiet, I went looking for him and found him in the fetal position bawling on his bedroom floor. This was no attempt to stay home from school. This was genuine sorrow that Gramma was on her way back to Oregon. It broke my heart.

When I dropped him off, he was still crying and wiping his tears on his lunch bag. (Oh how I wanted to gather him up in my arms and keep him next to me all day long.)

I thought about what today would have been like if we could have stayed home together. I think it would have involved snuggles, pizza and more tears. But he had to go to school and I had to tend to daycare on my own. It wasn't easy for me and I just pray my big boys' day got better.

Today I was a klutz. I spilled things all over the floors my MIL just lovingly mopped for me yesterday. That made me cry. I had to let my baby cry while I got lunch ready for the kids. That made me cry. My husband called a few times to ask me how I was doing. That made me cry. But all in all, I have a lot to be thankful for and that is helping me stay a little grounded. And just for the record...these are not PPD (post-pardum depression) tears, whew!

I am so thankful for all of the help, support and company we've been blessed to have for the past month. You know who you are. Thank you from the depths of my soul!

Stay tuned for pictures and a baby update on Thursday...little Max's one month birthday! Already, sniff-sniff!
